As a philosophy major, I often encounter such musings from other students in our university about my course and about what really is it about. I know that these musings are product of the presumption that philosophy is a heavy stuff. Others would also ask why is there women taking up the course and add if they were going to be nuns since they thought that philosophy are only for those who wanted to become priests. Because of this view, others would even associate Philosophy with religious education.
"But, what really is Philosophy?"
Well, philosophy is this: "Ask yourself a question and that is Philosophy."
